Lamborghini “refreshes” the Vision GT concept

It’s been five and a half years since Lamborghini unveiled the Vision Gran Turismo concept as one of its “craziest” creations ever. The impressive design “shaped” the new Revuelto, and now Lamborghini found time to “breathe new life” into the Vision GT and presented a new version.

The latest version of the Vision Gran Turismo concept was unveiled at the Car Design Event in Munich, Germany, painted in the Arancia Egon orange color that Lamborghini first used last year for the Urus SE model. This color is much better compared to the military matte green color of the first concept.

Like many other brands that have designed and produced Gran Turismo concepts, Lamborghini has indeed chosen a “wild” approach for its hypercar. The Vision GT shares little with other “raging bulls”, it has a complex suspension system inspired by motorsport and a body that makes it look more like a spacecraft. Its design makes even the Lamborghini Veneno appear restrained.

Unlike some other Gran Turismo concepts. Lamborghini didn’t experiment with the engine or opt for something it doesn’t normally incorporate into its real-world models. At the heart of the concept is the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine as in the Sian FKP 37, along with a mild hybrid system. This engine develops 819 hp.

The concept’s interior features a centrally positioned driver’s seat and an advanced steering wheel with a small central screen. Lamborghini envisioned the hypercar with an expandable head-up display, which covers most of the windshield.

It’s a shame that Lamborghini didn’t produce a road-going version of the Vision GT concept, like McLaren did with its track-oriented Solus GT model.
