Even with the basic version of last year’s redesigned Audi e-tron GT model, buyers who are ready to shell out 108,900 euros can count on more than 500 “horses”.
After the previously presented versions of the S e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT, in Ingolstadt, with a redesigned edition of their answer to Porsche’s Taycan, they also presented the basic version of the electrically powered model e-tron GT, with the remark that the word “basic” in this case should be taken with a lot of caution.
Viewed from the outside, very similar to the S and RS versions, the basic e-tron GT comes with two electric motors that are responsible for driving both axles (quattro). The engines combined produce 503 hp and 590 Nm of torque, but with the activation of the “launch control” system, the combined power can be raised to 585 hp for a short time.
The aforementioned potential is enough for Audi’s electric Grand Tourismo to reach 100 km/h from standstill in four seconds and develop an electronically limited 245 km/h without any delay. Compared to the S version, with which it shares the battery capacity, the basic model is 30 kilograms lighter, so its mass is 2,254 kilograms.
Weight reduction also benefits electricity consumption, so the e-tron GT can travel up to 622 kilometers (according to WLTP standards) with one battery charge (useable 97 kWh), and on powerful super-fast chargers (320 kW) after only ten minutes of charging the battery will provide energy for traveling up to 285 kilometers. On the aforementioned chargers, it takes only 18 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent.
For the basic Audi e-tron GT in Germany, 108,900 euros should be set aside, which is 17,100 euros less than the more powerful S version, but also slightly more than the basic Taycan 4, which costs 107,300 euros.
